The creators of Kumankaya are Remi and Ashley Delaune, two benevolent shamans who radiate great compassion, grace, and wisdom.
In an earlier chapter of life, Remi was a Christian monk for 20 years, living largely in silence in France. During that time he earned two PhDs in Theology and Philosophy, reading thousands of books on the nature of reality.
12 years ago, Remi was summoned to the medicine path, and spent some ~4.5 years living mostly in isolation in the Peruvian jungle, learning from a Shipibo master, drinking ayahuasca and dieting master plants. Another shaman we know described Remi as “the most advanced Western shaman I have ever encountered.”
All of that is to say that Remi and his wife Ashley are the real deal, and what they have built at Kumankaya is extraordinarily beautiful. It is a great gift to sit with them in the medicine space that they built and so lovingly hold.
Apotheosis co-founders Jordan Bates and Eric Brown were first guided to Kumankaya in 2020-2021, and the place has become dear to their hearts. Jordan recently got married there!

THE MEDICINES
Ayahuasca and Bufo alvarius are two medicines that have given our team truly indescribable gifts of healing, illumination, and connection to the Divine. When experienced in a sanctuary such as Kumankaya, in a space held by masterful shamans, the potential of these medicines is beyond words.
There is a tremendous, ancient intelligence at work within these medicines. An intelligence that knows you better than you know yourself. Jordan Bates
Co-Founder of Apotheosis & long-time Co-Steward of HighExistence, Jordan Bates is a simple man who loves Divinity, Life, Family, and Truth. He is a space-holder, integration coach, psychedelic facilitator, heart healer, writer, rapper, mystic, philosopher, father, and celebrator of the Great Mystery.
For 12 years, he has been on a quest for truth that has taken him to 30+ countries and the far reaches of inner space. His work & creations have reached millions of people.
The North Star that guides him is the Unsayable Divinity he has come to know through entheogenic & spiritual work. His highest calling is to be what he truly is, and to be a clear channel for Divine Love & Grace.
Eric Brown
Eric Brown is the Director of Apotheosis and Core Steward of HighExistence. He lives at the intersection of psychedelic therapy, individual awakening, cultural architecture, and cryptographically-secure protocols.
Deeply interested in shamanism, liquid democracy, Game B. He’s designed psychedelic therapy protocols used by thousands of clients, and crafts transformational experiences designed for peak experiences, deep healing, and fostering community. He crafts sound journeys through deep bass music designed to let people process their shadow in a unique and constructive manner.
Ashley Delaune
Ashley has been working with the medicine since 2016, when her journey led her to Nihue Rao Centro. She began apprenticing under Ricardo Amaringo the following year and has now accumulated over 2 years of dieting experience. In 2018, she and her husband co-created Kumankaya Healing Center. Ashley is a certified yoga and meditation teacher.
Remi Delaune
Remi is a true shaman who has walked the medicine path for 12+ years, spending 4.5 years in isolation dieting master plants. His lineage is the Peruvian Shipibo tradition. Earlier in life, he was a monk for 20 years and a Doctor of Philosophy who read thousands of books on metaphysics. His gorgeous icaro songs have miraculous healing power.
